Rock N Roll

What is a rock star these days?
I suppose the term has gotten quite a bit looser over the past couple decades. It has fizzled into an obscure description of what was once considered an almost god-like status. A "rock star" is something that every kid dreams of becoming but very few actually achieve. These days there are simply too many so-called "rock stars" in our world. It seems like every self-proclaimed musician is a "rock star". Fuck that. I'm a purist, there are certain guidelines one must adhere to in order to earn the title of "rock star".
This guy is it. A "rock star" through and through. I'd venture to say that any generation (who has lived in the time of rock) would agree that Julian Casablancas is a true rock star. Front man for the Strokes, talented solo-artist and infamous NYC lush, Julian Casablancas is the epitome of rock-stardom.

New York Entertainment just did a story on the man and dare I say..."it was quite good". I'm not usually one to flatter the mundane interview dribble that usually makes its way onto the page but this one is compelling and rich. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up. Check it here.
I'll leave you with my favorite quote from the article, and what I'd consider to be a very rock star thing to say:
“I remember the hangovers better than the time I was drinking.”Rock n Roll.
