Green Screen

Ever wonder how much of what you're watching is special effects? Or, how much of what you're watching isn't actually there?

This is a pretty rad video from Stargate Studios that shows you exactly what you're "seeing".

Ben Stiller Does Nothing

"Life is wasted on people."

What a great line. Ben Stiller hasn't done much recently to catch my attention. In fact, I've tried to avoid every film he's been in since "Zoolander". However, this new indie flick from the director of "The Squid And The Whale" Noah Baumbach looks pretty damn good.

Its slow and impassive...but then again, so is the time we're living in. I feel oddly settled after watching the trailer (I feel the same after reading The Catcher In The Rye) but for unknown reasons. Perhaps the premise of the film hits home: average guy leaves New York City and moves to Los Angeles in order to "do nothing" and hopefully find himself.

Check out the trailer for "Greenberg" yourself:

More on the film here.

Are You Internationally Racist?

Look at these two images.

Which one do you prefer?

If you said the second one then you arguably are a racist...or a Brit. These two promotional images were produced by a marketing agency for the movie "Couples Retreat". The first image is the US version and the second is the UK version. You may notice a slight difference...the UK version has no black people in it...WTF?

Yep, the movies two black stars (Faizon Love and Kali Hawk) were removed from the image used to advertise in the UK market. According to a Universal spokesman:
The altered poster "aimed to simplify the poster to actors who are most recognizable in international markets."
Huh, really? I'll let you be the judge. However, industry watcher James Ulmer cut right to the point when he said:
"The international marketplace is still fairly racist."
It would appear so. Regardless, the movie still blows.

Hottest Movie OF ALL TIME

A friend of mine just reminded me of this gem of a movie. Now, if you're like most guys you probably didn't rush out to see the movie "Stick It"...a gymnastics based feel-good female power kinda flick.

Ordinarily I'd be right there with you. What self-respecting guy sees a movie like that? Well, I've got news for you...it is THE HOTTEST MOVIE EVER MADE. Jeez, did the capital letters help get my point across? Get your ass to the nearest Blockbuster (if they haven't entirely gone out of business yet) and rent/purchase a copy of "Stick It". The movie is full of barely legal half naked smoking hot chicks bouncing around a gymnasium. Need I say more?

Small tip, watch it with the sound off. Even Jeff Bridges couldn't save the dialogue in this movie.

Oh, and I would give my left arm to meet the star of this film Missy Peregrym. She is sofa king hot.

Epic New Sherlock Holmes

If you're looking for the ultimate escape from the family this Christmas then look no further. Guy Ritchie has done it again with his epic take on Sherlock Holmes!

This December 25th, why sit around the house making small talk with the family and listening to Bing Crosby belt out White Christmas? What you should be doing is heading to the theatre to watch Robert Downey Jr deliver the most badass performance of the year!

Under the direction of Guy Ritchie (Lock Stock, Snatch, RocknRolla), Robert Downey Jr portrays the masterful detective Sherlock Holmes with Jude Law as his trusty sidekick Watson. There are gunfights, sword fights, fistfights, lovers' fights and fights involving electrocution. There are explosions, near-death experiences and horse-carriage races better than watching the Indy 500! Of course it also helps that the ever-stunning Rachel McAdams is playing Holmes love interest, Irene Adler. SO HOT!

This isn't your typical Sherlock Holmes either. Oscar nominee, Robert Downey Jr, says about his character:
"He's a total badass. He thinks through all eventualities, possibilities and counterattacks when he's fighting, so he actually has the fight worked out before he starts."

Artist Shepard Fairey on Colbert Report

Check Obama's favorite criminal, Shepard Fairey, on the Colbert Report. Street artist and founder of Obey is interviewed about the creation of the "HOPE" poster for the Obama campaign.

Check out the clip on Hulu - which I love for free TV and movie clips on my laptop. You can watch some great shows like Family Guy and The Office. They also have some pretty good movies on there.
